ECAC Hockey announced Monday that Colgate University sophomore forward Sammy Smigliani has been named the conference’s Player of the Week.

Smigliani, a La Jolla native, earns her first ECAC Hockey weekly honor of the season, leading the Raiders in scoring this weekend with three points on a goal and two assists.

In Sunday’s 5-0 win over St. Lawrence, Smigliani had a pair of points, assisting on the first goal of the game, and scoring one of her own early in the second frame.

During her youth career, Smigliani skated for the San Diego Jr. Gulls, California Wave and Anaheim Lady Ducks.
