Jr. Kings alum, Calabasas native Vieten commits to NCAA D-III Williams College

The NAHL’s Lone Star Brahmas have announced that forward David Vieten has committed to NCAA Division III Williams College.

Vieten arrived to the Brahmas via a trade in mid-January from the Kenai River Brown Bears. The Calabasas native recorded 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) in 54 regular-season games played between the Brahmas and Brown Bears during the 2021-22 regular season.

“Proud to announce my commitment to play NCAA hockey and further my education at Williams College,” said Vieten. “Thank you to my teammates, billets, coaches, and family for all the help along the way.”

No stranger to the NAHL playoffs, Vieten appeared in nine playoffs games for the Brown Bears in the 2020-21 season during which he tallied two assists. With the Brahmas in the 2021-22 season, Vieten played 19 games in the purple and black, and added another nine playoff appearances.

Vieten was also selected to and played in the 2021 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in June of 2021 where he had a goal in two games for the Midwest Division team.

In two NAHL seasons, he appeared in 92 regular-season games and had 35 points.

“We are excited to see the contributions David will make at Williams College,” said Brahmas coach-GM Dan Wildfong. “The future is bright for David, and we are looking forward to seeing him play NCAA hockey.”

Back home, Vieten skated for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
