The EHL has announced that Express Hockey Club goaltender Alex Koenig is the East Division Star of the Week.

Koenig, an ’04 native of Manhattan Beach, had two spectacular outings in net over the past two weeks. The first was a big 4-1 win over the East Coast Wizards where he allowed one goal and had 30 saves. He followed that up with a 4-0 shutout performance where he stopped 25.

Koenig has picked up right where he left off last season and in 13 appearances this season is 10-1 with a 1.53 GAA.

Back home, Koenig played for the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
