Jr. Sharks graduate Celebrini bags weekly USHL honors
The USHL has announced that Chicago Steel forward Macklin Celebrini is the USHL Forward of the Week.
Celebrini was pivotal in Chicago’s win last week, a 7-1 Saturday night victory over the Green Bay Gamblers. The 16-year-old forward opened his night with an unassisted goal midway through the opening frame before adding his second tally seven minutes later. Then, in a span of 1:44, Celebrini picked up a pair of power-play points, first with a primary assist, followed by his third goal of the period.
The Boston University commit finished the night with four points (3-1-4), his new career-high for the USHL.
A Vancouver, B.C., native, Celebrini was a tender selection of the Steel before this season and currently has 14 points (9-5-14) in nine games, including at least one point in eight of his nine games this season.
The former San Jose Jr. Sharks forward is considered a top prospect for the 2024 NHL Draft.
