The Yale University women’s hockey team had 19 student-athletes named to the 2015-16 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team.

Among those 19 was sophomore economics major Kara Drexler, a Manhattan Beach native and graduate of the Anaheim Lady Ducks program. Drexler was named to the All-Academic Team for the second time in her collegiate career.

Drexler, a defenseman for the Bulldogs who led the team with a plus-5 rating in 2015-16, served as a team captain with the Lady Ducks for four years. She competed in USA Hockey National Championships in 2008-2014, capturing a bronze medal in 2009.

Players are eligible for the ECAC Hockey All-Academic team if they have a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have an average GPA of 3.00 for the past three semesters.
