Santa Barbara native Stachowiak garners weekly award from NAHL
The NAHL has announced that Minot Minotauros forward Trevor Stachowiak is the Central Division Star of the Week.
Stachowiak, 20, had a big weekend as the Minotauros widened their lead atop the Central Division thanks to a weekend home sweep of the North Iowa Bulls.
The Minot captain and native of Santa Barbara had six points (two goals, four assists) in the two wins.
“Trevor had a great weekend for us,” said Minot head coach Cody Campbell. “As always, his play was hard and consistent. This weekend, he was rewarded for that with offensively pointing. Because of that, he also broke our organization’s all time assists record. Trevor has been a leader and the driver of this team all year long.
“We are happy he is being recognized for his play this past weekend and look forward to him continuing to perform at a high level as he pursues an extremely well-deserved opportunity at the NCAA D-I level.”
On Friday, he had a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win. On Saturday, he had a goal and three assists in a 9-1 win.
For the season, Stachowiak is third in team scoring with 26 points in 28 games.
