Two recognized by NHL Central Scouting
Two players with California ties – forward Zak Galambos and goaltender Evan Sarthou – were recognized by NHL Central Scouting on its “Players to Watch” list for 2016 draft-eligibles, which was released today.
Galambos, a Walnut Creek native who played locally for the San Jose Jr. Sharks, is listed as a C-rated prospect (a potential fourth-, fifth- or sixth-round selection), while Sarthou, a Washington native who played with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings, is a B-rated prospect (a potential second- or third-round pick).
Galambos is skating this season for the North American Hockey League’s Johnstown Tomahawks, and Sarthou is in his third year stopping pucks for the Western Hockey League’s Tri-City (Wash.) Americans.
NHL Central Scouting will release its midterm rankings in January.
The 2016 NHL Entry Draft will be conducted on June 24-25 at Buffalo’s First Niagara Center.
