Former Jr. King Wilkins tabbed East Regional Most Outstanding Player, Hockey East Co-Player of the Week
Providence College junior forward Josh Wilkins was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA East Regional for his five-point (three goals, two assists) performance to help the Friars reach the Frozen Four for the first time since winning the national championship in 2015 in Boston.
On Monday, Wilkins was named Hockey East Co-Player of the Week alongside University of Massachusetts sophomore defenseman Cale Makar.
Wilkins, a Los Angeles Jr. Kings alum, scored two goals and added an assist, all on the power play, in a come-from-behind 6-3 win over Minnesota State in the semifinals and added another tally and assist in a 4-0 shutout of Cornell over the weekend.
