Huntington Beach native, Jr. Kings, Jr. Ducks alum Haar garners weekly NAHL award
Aberdeen Wings forward Cooper Haar has been named the NAHL’s Central Division Star of the Week for the week ending Feb. 9, 2020.
The 20-year-old Haar helped his team widen their lead atop the Central Division with a weekend home sweep of the Minot Minotauros.
“Cooper has been an added difference maker both on the ice and in the dressing room,” said Wings head coach Scott Langer. “He is a mature player that has a desire to win every night, and that desire is contagious. Cooper’s weekend was a big boost to get us heading in the right direction.”
A native of Huntington Beach, Haar had four points (three goals, assist) in the two wins. That included two goals and an assist in Friday’s 4-3 win and another goal in Saturday’s 3-2 shootout win.
For the season, Haar, who will be on Team Central at the 2020 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, is second in team scoring with 39 points in 42 games played so far this season.
