Jr. Sharks’ standout blueliner Brown commits to NCAA Division I Denver

San Jose Jr. Sharks’ 16U AAA defenseman Garrett Brown has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Denver.

The 2004 birth year and San Jose native had a strong year in 2019-20, which was capped off by being drafted by the Sioux City Musketeers in the third round (32nd overall) of Phase I of the USHL Draft.

Last year with the Jr. Sharks’ 15U AAA team, Brown scored nine goals and 47 points in 57 games.

Denver, a member of the NCHC and the 2017 national champion, had three former Jr. Sharks on its roster last season in Devin Cooley, Tyson McLellan, and Jake Durflinger.
