Laguna Beach native Stefan decides on NCAA Division I Sacred Heart for college destination

The NAHL’s Danbury Hat Tricks have announced that forward Wyatt Stefan has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Sacred Heart (Atlantic Hockey).

The Hat Tricks’ second-year forward is coming off of a 44-point season, tallying an even 22 goals and 22 assists. In the final three games of the 2023-24 campaign, Stefan had three goals and three assists.

“After visiting and speaking with the coaching staff, I felt like it was the right fit in all aspects on and off the ice,” said Stefan, a native of Laguna Beach. “Their first-class facility also made it an easy decision to decide on SHU.”

When asked about if he felt there was more to improve on in terms of his play, Stefan stated, “I felt like I had a strong year and improved on different aspects of my game throughout the summer leading into this season, but there is more work to be done and I look forward to developing through the off season.”

Stefan finished by explaining what he feels got him to this point.

“I feel that I owe it all to my family who has helped me become the person I am today, and all my teammates and coaches who have pushed me throughout the years,” Stefan said.

Danbury head coach Patrik Stefan added, “I’m proud as a dad and coach for the hard work and sacrifice Wyatt put in to earn this opportunity.”
