Manhattan Beach native, Jr. Ducks, Jr. Kings alum Koenig takes home weekly EHL honors

The EHL has announced goaltender Alex Koenig of the Express Hockey Club as the EHL Playoffs Divisional Star for the East Division.

The second-year Express goaltender has played in every single game of the postseason thus far, with half of those games ending in shutout fashion.

Most recently, the 04’ native of Manhattan Beach defeated the Seahawks Hockey Club, stopping 51 of 52 in the series-clinching game. He stopped all 65 pucks that came his way in the two games prior to that and currently sports a .979 playoff save percentage.

In the regular season, Koenig was no different. His .951 save percentage helped him earn Goaltender of the Year and Most Valuable Player. Now, with the New Hampshire Avalanche ahead at Plymouth State, he and his team are hoping for more of the same.

In California, Koenig starred for the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
