Manhattan Beach native, Jr. Kings product Brisson collects weekly honors from Big Ten

The Big Ten announced today that University of Michigan sophomore forward Brendan Brisson has been named the First Star of the Week.

A Manhattan Beach native, Brisson scored both of Michigan’s game-winning goals and added an assist to help the Wolverines win the 2021 IceBreaker Tournament in Duluth, Minn.

Brisson gave Michigan a 2-1 advantage at the 6:20 mark of the second period in Friday’s win against No. 5 Minnesota Duluth, a goal good enough for No. 4 on the SportsCenter Top 10.

He recorded the primary assist on Michigan’s second goal before finding the back of the net at the 15:40 mark of the third period to lift the Wolverines to a 3-2 win over No. 1 Minnesota State on Saturday.

During his youth hockey career, the Vegas Golden Knights prospect played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
