Oceanside native, Jr. Gulls product Gates wins ECAC Hockey weekly women’s award
Colgate women’s hockey freshman defenseman Tanner Gates has been named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week.
Gates, an Oceanside native and former San Diego Jr. Gulls standout, recorded a point in both games at Robert Morris over the weekend. She had the primary assist on Bailey Larson‘s goal Friday night, and then assisted on Malia Schneider‘s game-opening goal Saturday.
It’s the first career weekly honor for Gates, who is second in scoring for defensemen on the Raiders with five points on the season on one goal and four assists.
